Garlic is an easy and gratifying plant. Select large and healthy garlic cloves (of softneck or hardneck). Take the bulbs out of the bag, and remove the papery skins of each into a separate clove. Plant cloves 2 inches deep with the pointy side up, 4-6 inches spacing in well-draining and fertile soil. Garlic prefers full sun. Water on a regular basis but not waterlogging. Straw or leaves to provide humidity and discourage weeds. Garlic is typically grown in the fall to harvest in the summer and it is ready to harvest when the leaves begin to yellow and dry up.

Plant garlic by breaking a fresh garlic bulb into single cloves and planting each one with the pointed end up, at a depth of about 23 inches and a spacing of 6 inches apart in loose and well-drained soil. The ideal time to plant is in late fall or early winter (before the ground freezes) so that the garlic can get a root start.

Pick a sunlit location, give a slight watering after planting, and cover with straw or dry leaves for moisture retention and protection from cold. Besides not watering too much, also keep the area free from weeds, and you'll have nutritious bulbs ready for harvesting in late spring or early summer.

To plant garlic, choose healthy cloves and plant them pointed end up, 2 inches deep and 4–6 inches apart in well-drained soil. Plant in fall or early spring. Water lightly, mulch for protection, and allow full sunlight for strong growth.

Growing Garlic Plant garlic in loose and well-drained soil and in full sunlight, either in fall or early winter. Prepare individual bulbs and put in cloves and plant with the pointed part facing upward, approximately 2 inches deep in the ground spacing 4 -6 inches between them. Irrigate sparingly, cover with mulch to prevent cold injury, and pick when the leaves become yellow normally at the end of the spring or summer.

To plant garlic, choose healthy cloves from a fresh bulb. Separate cloves without peeling them. Plant each clove pointy side up, about 2 inches deep and 4–6 inches apart, in well-drained soil with good sunlight. Water lightly after planting. Garlic grows best in cool weather. Harvest when the leaves turn yellow and dry.

Break a garlic bulb down to its separate cloves and plant each one with the pointed end upwards about 1 to 2 inches deep in well-drained soil receiving plenty of sunlight, spacing the cloves a few inches apart. Water lightly, keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and in a couple of months, the cloves will develop into complete bulbs that can be harvested when the leaves begin to yellow.

To plant garlic, start by separating a fresh garlic bulb into individual cloves without peeling them. Choose large, healthy cloves and plant them in well-drained soil with the pointed end facing up, about 2 inches deep and 4–6 inches apart. Garlic grows best in full sunlight and is usually planted in fall (for a summer harvest) or early spring in cooler areas. Water lightly but consistently, and add mulch in cold climates to protect the soil. Harvest when the lower leaves turn yellow and dry, then cure the bulbs in a dry, airy place before storing.
