I’m looking for advice on growing tomatoes from seeds. What are the basic steps involved—from choosing seeds and planting them to caring for the seedlings and transplanting them outdoors? Any tips, common mistakes to avoid, or beginner-friendly suggestions would be really helpful.

Sow in the greenhouse 68 weeks before the final frost. Sow them in 1/4 inch deep moist potting mix keeping warm (21-27 o C). When they grow two bodies of leaves, have bright light. Acclimatize to the outdoors another week and then put in the sunny well-drained soil.

Growing tomatoes from seeds can be a bit tricky, but with the right steps, you can have a thriving crop. First, choose a variety that suits your climate and desired harvest time, then sow the seeds about a quarter inch deep in seed starting mix, keeping the soil warm and moist. Once the seedlings have two sets of leaves, start caring for them by providing adequate light and fertilization. Be careful not to overwater, as this can lead to weak roots. When transplanting outdoors, make sure the soil has warmed up and there's no risk of frost, and handle the seedlings gently to avoid damaging the roots. One common mistake to avoid is transplanting too early, so wait until the seedlings are sturdy enough to withstand outdoor conditions.

Start them indoors about 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, sow about a quarter inch deep in moist soil and keep them warm, then once they have two sets of leaves harden them off outside for a week before transplanting, the biggest mistake is rushing that last step.

Growing tomatoes from seeds is pretty simple if you start with good light and patience. I usually sow the seeds in small pots or trays with moist seed-starting mix, about ¼ inch deep, and keep them somewhere warm. They usually sprout in 5–10 days. Once they grow a few leaves, move them to bigger pots and give them plenty of sunlight. After the weather is warm and there’s no frost risk, transplant them into the garden or larger containers and water consistently. In my experience, tomatoes do best with lots of sun and regular care.

Water regularly, provide support with stakes or cages, and tomatoes will begin developing in a few months
