You can grow quite a few rainforest-style plants outdoors if your climate is warm or you can manage partial shade and moisture. Things like ferns, caladiums, peace lilies, begonias, hibiscus, and even banana plants do really well. I’ve seen coleus and elephant ear (alocasia/colocasia) thrive in shaded garden corners, too. The key is keeping the soil moist (not soggy) and protecting them from harsh direct sun, since most rainforest plants are used to filtered light under tree cover.
