Which rainforest plants can I grow in my outdoor home garden? Looking for options that can handle my climate and are easy to care for without too much maintenance.

Some rainforest plants that can grow in outdoor home gardens in warm climates include Hibiscus, Banana Plant, Bird of Paradise, Ginger, and Heliconia. These plants thrive in humid environments with rich soil, partial to full sunlight, and regular watering.

You can grow quite a few rainforest-style plants outdoors if your climate is warm or you can manage partial shade and moisture. Things like ferns, caladiums, peace lilies, begonias, hibiscus, and even banana plants do really well. I’ve seen coleus and elephant ear (alocasia/colocasia) thrive in shaded garden corners, too. The key is keeping the soil moist (not soggy) and protecting them from harsh direct sun, since most rainforest plants are used to filtered light under tree cover.
