What is the correct way to plant a mango seed?

After eating a particularly delicious honey mango, I saved the pit and want to try sprouting it. Can someone explain how to plant mango seed so that it doesn't get moldy during the germination phase? I’m curious if I should dry the husk first or remove the inner embryo immediately. Knowing how to plant mango seed correctly in a tropical vs. temperate climate would be extremely helpful for my success rate.

I’d honestly remove the husk and plant the inner seed right away in moist (not soggy) soil, it sprouts faster and is less likely to mold; in cooler climates just keep it warm indoors and you’re good
