How Do You Use a Moss Pole for Plants Properly?

My climbing aroids are starting to get unruly and I’ve decided to get a support system, but I’m not sure how to use a moss pole for plants without damaging the roots. Do you have to keep the moss constantly damp for the aerial roots to attach? I’m looking for a step-by-step guide on securing a heavy vine to a moss pole for plants so that it grows vertically rather than trailing over the sides of the pot.

To use a Moss Pole, place it firmly in the soil near a climbing plant like Monstera. Gently tie the stems to the pole so the plant can grow upward and attach its aerial roots to the moist surface.

Insert a Moss Pole into the pot and position it close to a climbing plant such as Pothos. Keep the pole slightly moist and guide the plant stems around it to encourage vertical growth and healthier leaves. 🌱

Plant the moss pole next to the plant's stem. Soak the moss. Attach the stems and aerial roots to the moss pole. Always keep the moss wet. With time, you need to direct the stems and roots towards the pole to promote climbing and leaf development.
