Do plants feel pain when they are cut or damaged?

I’ve been wondering, do plants feel pain like animals do? I know they respond to stimuli, but is it the same as feeling pain? Curious to learn more.

Plants do not feel pain the way humans or animals do because they lack a nervous system and brain. However, they can respond to damage through chemical signals and defense mechanisms. This helps them react to stress, but it is not the same as consciously experiencing pain.

The plants are not animals that experience pain, because they have no nervous system and brain. But when broken or harmed, they may also produce chemical signals, like jasmonic acid, to cause a defense response, signal an approaching plant, or lure herbivore predators.

Plants do not feel pain like humans because they lack a brain or nervous system. However, they can sense damage and respond through chemical signals, triggering defense mechanisms to protect themselves from further harm or environmental stress.
