I fear the withered leaves that burn in the summer sun. My yard is half sunny and half shade and therefore I am trying to discover that Goldilocks that will receive adequate light and not turn pale. And protect it against the wind also?

The best place to plant a Japanese Maple is a spot that receives dappled sunlight or morning sun with afternoon shade. These trees have delicate leaves that can scorch in intense, direct heat. They also require well-draining, slightly acidic soil and protection from strong winds. Planting them near a patio or as a focal point in a sheltered garden ensures they thrive while showcasing their stunning seasonal foliage.
