I recently added a Ficus plant to my indoor plant collection. What type of light and watering schedule does a Ficus plant need? I also want to know the best soil for a Ficus plant. Any tips for keeping a Ficus plant healthy would be appreciated.

To maintain a healthy ficus plant indoors, ensure it receives bright, indirect light and maintain a consistent temperature between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Water your ficus plant when the top inch of soil feels dry, and fertilize during the growing season (spring-fall). Prune it regularly to control size and promote a bushy shape.

I've had a Ficus plant for a while now and I can tell you that it's pretty low maintenance. For lighting, I'd say place it near a sunny window with filtered light, but not direct sunlight as it can cause scorching. Watering is key, so make sure the soil is moist but not waterlogged, I water mine once a week in the summer and less often in the winter. As for soil, a well-draining potting mix works great, you can also add some organic matter like compost to enrich it. One tip I can give you is to fertilize it regularly, especially during the growing season, and prune it occasionally to maintain its shape and promote healthy growth.

In order to keep a Ficus healthy, indoors, it has to have bright, indirect light, water to the top inch of soil when it is dry and it needs to have well-draining soil. Keep humidity moderate, eliminate drafts and occasionally wipe leaves to get off dust. Plant in growing season and prune to regulate size and promote bushes.

To maintain a healthy Ficus plant, provide bright, indirect light and a stable temperature between 65–75°F. Use well-draining soil and water only when the top inch is dry. Regular pruning and leaf cleaning prevent dust buildup and promote a bushy shape, while avoiding drafts prevents leaf drop.
