What is the Lifespan of LVP Flooring?

We are planning a basement renovation and are considering Luxury Vinyl Plank due to its water resistance, but I’m curious about what is the lifespan of lvp flooring in a high-moisture environment. Most manufacturers claim these floors can last anywhere from 10 to 20 years, but I want to know how the wear layer holds up against heavy furniture and foot traffic over time. If you have had this material installed for more than five years, have you noticed any significant fading, scratching, or "peaking" at the seams that might suggest the actual durability is shorter than advertised?

LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring typically lasts 10–25 years, depending on quality, wear layer thickness, and how well it’s maintained.

The average lifespan of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring is between 10 and 25 years, depending on the quality of the flooring and the wear layer thickness. In less trafficked areas of a residential setting, high-quality LVP can last beyond 25 years, but in a commercial setting, the lifespan may be reduced.

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring typically lasts 10 to 25 years, depending on quality, wear layer thickness, installation, and maintenance. Higher-quality LVP in low-traffic areas can last even longer with proper care.
