I’m interested in growing Rooibos tea plants and would like to know the proper care requirements. What type of soil and climate do Rooibos tea plants need? I also want to know how often Rooibos tea plants should be watered. If anyone has experience with Rooibos tea plants, please share your advice.

Rooibos tea plants thrive in well-drained, sandy soils with low fertility. They require full sun, a Mediterranean-type climate, and minimal frost. Moderate rainfall is ideal, and overwatering should be avoided. Proper spacing and occasional pruning help growth. These conditions ensure healthy plants and high-quality Rooibos tea leaves.

Rooibos tea plants are pretty specific when it comes to their growing conditions, they thrive in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0, which is typical of their native South African habitat. The climate should be mild with low humidity, and full sun to partial shade, temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius are ideal. As for watering, they're relatively drought-tolerant, but consistent moisture, especially during the first year, is crucial, so water them deeply once or twice a week, depending on weather conditions. I've found that overwatering can be detrimental, so it's better to err on the side of caution and monitor the soil moisture closely.
