What are woody plants, and how are they different from other plants? I’m curious how they grow and what makes them unlike soft-stem or herbaceous plants.

"Hey there, plant lovers. I just learned about woody plants recently and I'm excited to share my findings. Woody plants are trees or shrubs that have a hard, woody stem. They're different from herbaceous plants, which are softer and more flexible. Think oak trees versus succulents - two totally different species."

Woody plants, like trees and shrubs, produce lignin to create hard, permanent stems. Unlike herbaceous plants that die back or stay soft, woody plants survive winter and grow thicker annually through secondary growth, allowing them to reach greater heights and live for decades.
