I’m thinking about replacing my traditional lawn with clover. Is clover seed for lawns a better option in terms of maintenance and water usage? I’d love to know the pros and cons before making the switch.

Clover is a good low maintenance substitute to grass. It needs a lot less water, remains green even in droughts and naturally fertilizes the soil through nitrogen fixation. Although it is eco-friendly and friendly to pollinators, it is not as tough in places of heavy foot traffic and may need frequent reseeding to keep it even.

Yes, Clover can be a good alternative to grass because it needs less water, little to no fertilizer, and stays green for longer. It also improves soil health by adding nitrogen. However, it may not handle heavy foot traffic as well as grass and can spread into unwanted areas if not maintained.
