Elephant ear plant — how do you care for it?

I recently bought an elephant ear plant and want to make sure I’m caring for it properly. How much sunlight and water does an elephant ear plant need to grow well indoors or outdoors? Any tips for keeping an elephant ear plant healthy and preventing yellow leaves would be appreciated.

"I've had great success with elephant ear plants. They prefer well-draining soil and partial shade. Water them thoroughly, but allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Fertilize monthly during the growing season. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Regular pruning will keep the plant bushy and healthy."

Give it bright, indirect light, consistently moist soil (not soggy), and warm temperatures above 18°C. Use rich, well-draining soil and feed with a balanced fertilizer every 2–4 weeks in growing season. Keep humidity high and protect from cold drafts.

Elephant ear plants, usually varieties of Colocasia or Alocasia, grow in warm conditions with lots of indirect light of 65 -85F (18-29C). Always have the soil wet and not so wet because they prefer to be in humid areas and soil that has a high rate of water infiltration. Provide food monthly in the growing season, getting rid of the then-yellow leaves, and preventing the plant against frost and excessive draft.
