From my experience, Purple Heart does best in bright direct sun because it keeps that deep purple color, but it can handle partial shade too, it just turns a bit greener and less vibrant.
Purple Heart plants prefer full sun to partial shade. They grow best with plenty of sunlight, which keeps their purple color vibrant, but they can tolerate light shade.
