Technically, Snapdragon flowers are short-lived perennials, but most gardeners grow them as annuals. Because of the mild climate, the plants can survive the winter and flower again the following year. On the other hand, in the regions where hard frost occurs, the plants are generally considered as annuals since the freezing temperatures usually kill them. The Snapdragon plant loves cool weather, full sun, and well-drained soil and often flowers its best in spring and fall.
