Which flowers start with the letter I — and are any of them easy to grow indoors?

I'm looking for a complete list of flowers that start with I for a gardening project. Iris and Impatiens are the ones I know, but I'm sure there are more. Are there any I-named flowers that do well as houseplants or in small pots on a balcony?

Beyond Iris and Impatiens there's also Ixia, Ixora, and Ice Plant, and if you're looking for something that actually does well in pots indoors Impatiens is your best bet since it handles low light better than most.

Some flowers that start with the letter “I” include Iris, Impatiens, Ice Plant, and Indian Blanket.

For indoor growing, Impatiens are among the easiest because they thrive in indirect light and bloom well in containers. Some Iris varieties can also grow indoors with enough sunlight, while Ice Plants do well near bright windows because they prefer dry conditions and lots of light.

"Hey there, flower lovers. If you're looking for blooms starting with I, I've got two gorgeous ones for you: Iceland Poppies and Indian Painted Lady Orchids. Both are relatively easy to grow indoors, but the Iceland Poppies might need a bit of direct sunlight. Hope this helps you in your flower quest"

Flowers starting with the letter “I” include Iris, Impatiens, Iceland Poppy, Indian Blanket, and Ipomoea. Among these, Impatiens and some smaller Iris varieties are easier to grow indoors with enough sunlight and regular watering. Impatiens are especially popular because they bloom brightly and adapt well to containers. Indoor gardeners should use well-draining soil and avoid overwatering. Proper light, airflow, and occasional fertilizer help these flowering plants stay healthy and colorful year-round.
