I’ve recently set up a small sanctuary in my backyard and I’m dying to see more local wildlife. I know they are drawn to bright, tubular shapes, but I want to plant a variety that blooms at different times throughout the summer. Beyond the standard bee balm, what flowers attract hummingbirds the most effectively while being relatively low-maintenance for a beginner gardener?

The hummingbird is attracted to colorful, tubular flowers that contain nectar. It prefers flowers that are red, orange, and pink.
