I’ve heard pineapple can be grown from its crown. Can someone explain the correct method and how long it takes to see growth?

To grow a pineapple plant, cut off the leafy crown from a ripe pineapple. Remove lower leaves, let it dry for a day, then place in water or soil. Keep in bright light, water lightly, and transplant once roots form.

Growing a pineapple from its crown is definitely possible and can be a fun project. To start, you'll need to twist or cut the crown off a fresh pineapple, making sure to leave about an inch of the fruit attached. Let it dry for a day or two to prevent rot, then place it in a pot of well-draining soil. Water it sparingly at first, and keep the soil moist but not soggy. It can take a few weeks to see any growth, usually around 2-3 weeks you'll start to notice roots developing and leaves starting to sprout, and after a few months you'll have a new pineapple plant.

Remove the top part of the pineapple plant along with its leaves. The base should be allowed to air dry for about two days. Put the pineapple in water to grow roots, then transfer the plant into good soil. The pineapple needs light, warmth, little water, and time to grow.
