How often should you water a snake plant for healthy growth?

Hey everyone, I’ve got a snake plant at home and I’m unsure about watering. How often should I water it to keep it healthy without risking overwatering?

I've had a snake plant for a while now and I've found that watering it once a week works best, but this can vary depending on the humidity and temperature of your home. If your place is really dry, you might need to water it every 5 days, but if it's more humid, once every 10 days could be enough. The key is to check the soil moisture by sticking your finger in it, if it feels dry, it's time to water, but if it's still damp, wait a few more days. This way you can avoid overwatering and keep your snake plant happy and thriving.

I've had a snake plant for a while now and I can tell you that they're pretty hardy, but they still need proper care. I water mine about once a week, but it really depends on the humidity and temperature of your home. If it's really dry, you might need to water it every 5-6 days, and if it's more humid, you can get away with watering it every 10 days. Just make sure the soil isn't waterlogged, as that can cause root rot. Stick your finger in the soil up to the first knuckle, and if it feels dry, it's time to water.

Honestly less than you think, once a week at most and in winter even less, just stick your finger in the soil and if it still feels damp wait a few more days because overwatering is basically the only way you can actually kill a snake plant.

Snake plants don’t need frequent watering, which is one reason I like them for low-maintenance care. A good rule is to water every 2–4 weeks, depending on the season and how dry the soil feels. I usually wait until the soil is completely dry before watering because overwatering is the fastest way to damage a snake plant. In winter, you can water even less often.
