How many kilos of tomatoes can you get per plant on average?

I’m planning my first vegetable garden this year and trying to estimate my total yield for canning purposes. I'm growing a mix of cherry and beefsteak varieties in large containers with organic fertilizer. Can anyone share their realistic harvest data regarding how many kilos of tomatoes per plant I should expect under optimal conditions? I want to make sure I have enough jars ready for the end of the season.

I've been growing tomatoes in containers for a while now and I can share my experience with you. On average, I'd say a healthy cherry tomato plant can give you around 2-3 kilos of fruit per season, while a beefsteak variety can yield around 4-5 kilos. Of course, this depends on factors like sunlight, watering, and fertilization, but since you're using organic fertilizer and large containers, I think you're off to a great start. Keep in mind that these are rough estimates, but they should give you a good idea of what to expect, and help you plan your canning season accordingly.
