I’m planning my garden and wondering how long do potato plants take to grow from planting to harvest. Does the timeline change based on the potato variety or climate? Would love to hear real experiences from people who’ve grown potatoes before.

Potato plants typically take 70 to 120 days to grow, depending on the variety. Early potatoes mature in about 70–90 days, while maincrop varieties take 100–120 days to fully develop and harvest.

It usually takes potato plants 70 to 120 days to fully develop from planting to harvest. Some varieties mature faster than others, while others take longer. A warm soil, watering, and adequate sunlight are needed for proper growth. New potatoes can be harvested sooner, but full-grown potatoes need the full time to develop.
