How Long Do Flowers Last?

I recently purchased some fresh flowers, and I kept thinking about how long do flowers last before they start wilting. Is it based on the kind of flower, or is there a median duration for the freshness of bouquets? Also, could you name a few easy tricks for prolonging the life of flowers in a vase?

How long flowers last depends on the type and care, but most fresh-cut flowers stay beautiful for 5 to 14 days. Hardy varieties like carnations and chrysanthemums can last up to two weeks, while delicate flowers like tulips may last about a week. Changing the water regularly, trimming stems, and keeping them away from heat and direct sunlight can help extend their lifespan.

Most bouquets last 7–10 days. The key is cutting the stems at a 45-degree angle so they can actually drink the water.

"Hello, the longevity of flowers depends on various factors such as type, care, and environment. Generally, cut flowers can last between 5-14 days. To extend their lifespan, make sure to change the water daily, keep them away from direct sunlight, and refrigerate them when not in use."

I've found that the lifespan of flowers really depends on the type and how well you care for them. Cut flowers usually last anywhere from 3 to 14 days, but some varieties like orchids can last up to 2-3 weeks. To extend their life, make sure to change the water daily, trim the stems, and keep them away from direct sunlight and heat. I've had good results with using flower food packets too.

The lifespan of flowers varies by type and care. Cut flowers typically last 5–12 days with proper water, light, and temperature. Potted flowers can bloom for weeks to months. Regular trimming and fresh water extend their freshness.
