How can you keep flowers alive for a longer time?

I received a stunning birthday bouquet, but I always seem to struggle with keeping cut stems from drooping after just a couple of days. I’ve heard rumors about adding aspirin or sugar to the water, but I’m looking for a proven method. If you have a tried-and-true technique for how to keep flowers alive for a week or more, please share your secrets!

I totally understand your struggle, I've been there too with my birthday bouquets. What's worked for me is changing the water every two to three days and making sure to trim the stems at an angle with a sharp knife or scissors. I also add a floral preservative, which usually comes with the bouquet or can be bought at a flower shop. Some people swear by adding a tablespoon of white vinegar to the water, which helps prevent bacterial growth, but I've found the preservative to be more effective. Give it a try and see how it goes, you might be surprised at how long your flowers last.
